NAP Formatter
Format your business Name, Address and Phone into a consistent NAP block ready to paste into citations, websites and directories.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does NAP consistency matter for local SEO?
Because search engines use consistent name/address/phone strings across the web to decide which business a listing refers to. Inconsistent NAP data weakens those signals and can suppress your visibility in the local pack.
Which phone format should I use?
Two: E.164 (+12125551234, with country code, no spaces or punctuation) for schema markup, and a human-readable form ((212) 555-1234) for visible text on the site. Both formats represent the same number.
Is my business data uploaded?
No — formatting runs entirely in your browser.
The NAP Formatter normalises a business name, address, and phone number into consistent formatting suitable for local citations, schema markup, and directory listings. NAP consistency — writing your address the exact same way everywhere it appears online — is a well-documented local-SEO signal, since search engines use those signals to decide which business a given "Acme Plumbing" listing refers to.
How to Use This Tool
Enter your business name, address, and phone number as you have them today. The formatter capitalises the name in title case, standardises common address abbreviations (St → Street, Ave → Avenue, Blvd → Boulevard), and formats the phone number in E.164 form for schema and in a locally-readable form for display. Copy the standardised block into your citation submissions.
SEO Best Practices
Pick one canonical NAP format (usually the exact form on your Google Business Profile) and use it verbatim on your site, in schema, on your Facebook page, and in every directory. Update the same field in all locations together whenever anything changes — a stale phone number in a single old directory can cost you calls. When multiple locations exist, keep each location's NAP consistent within its own listings, and use a distinct schema block per location.
Example
"acme plumbing co, 123 main st, ny, ny 10001, (212) 555-1234" formatted becomes "Acme Plumbing Co, 123 Main Street, New York, NY 10001, +12125551234" (E.164) with a display form of "(212) 555-1234". The two phone forms are handy: schema wants E.164, humans want the readable form.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Don't mix "Street" and "St" across listings — pick one and stick with it. Don't use different phone numbers (a tracked number vs the real one) in NAP schema and on the visible site; keep NAP citation-consistent and add tracked numbers elsewhere. Don't abbreviate the state randomly; use the official two-letter code.
