Understanding Your Results

The "saved" figure is what comes off the sticker price; the "final price" is what you pay before any tax. If a store adds sales tax on top, apply the tax to the final price, not the original.

How to Fix Common Problems

If the final price looks wrong, check you entered the discount as a percentage (25 for 25%, not 0.25). For stacked discounts ("extra 10% off sale items"), run the tool twice: first the sale discount, then apply the second discount to that result.

To compare a "% off" deal against a "$ off" deal, convert both to a final price and compare those directly. Watch for stacked vs combined discounts — "30% then 20%" is a 44% total discount, not 50%.
